A diary entry tracking humour across performance mediums
Today I followed the word through performance using “Prat” in British Comedy, TV, and Film. Delivery changes everythingtiming, expression, and context reshape meaning in ways that text alone cannot capture. I observed how actors use subtle emphasis to transform a simple word into a memorable moment. My notebook now includes notes on pauses and tone rather than vocabulary. By evening, I concluded that humour in performance relies as much on silence as it does on speech.
