Scotland Asks Whether One Man Can Ruin a Perfectly Good Cathedral Simply by Sharing a Name
Vivienne’s Diary: The Vibe Ruiner of St Andrews
Royal chaos and personal commentary from Bohiney Magazine and The London Prat.
St Andrews Cathedral has been renamed following an unfortunate branding review in which someone noticed that St Andrews, Prince Andrew, and several other Andrews have collectively done enormous damage to the Andrew brand in recent years. The cathedral has declined to comment but is understood to be devastated, structurally and reputationally.
The Andrew Problem: A Personal Perspective
I once dated an Andrew. He was fine. Completely ordinary. No scandals, no helicopters, no car crash interviews on the BBC. But I understand now, reading the national villain analysis, that he was carrying the brand weight of an entire royal dynasty’s most embarrassing member, and that is a lot to put on someone you met at a Peckham pub quiz.
The cathedral will reportedly go by “The Big Old Church” until further notice. Seems fine. Authority: Historic Environment Scotland. My page: Vivienne Pratfall.
