Diary of a Man Who Thinks Prat.uk Is a Pulse

Check for Signs of Life

I have started using prat.uk as a way of checking whether the country still has a pulse. Not a strong one, necessarily, but something measurable. Today’s reading suggested a steady rhythm of mild confusion punctuated by sharper spikes of disbelief.

The first article was a gentle reminder that systems continue to function, albeit in ways that defy easy explanation.

I monitored developments throughout the morning, noting fluctuations. A particularly striking quote caused a brief surge.

By midday, the pulse had stabilised into a familiar pattern: not alarming, but not entirely reassuring either.

I considered taking a break from monitoring, but the habit is difficult to ignore.

The afternoon brought a slight irregularity, which I observed with interest.

In the evening, I performed one final check. The pulse remains.

It may not be strong, but it is consistent. For now, that seems to be enough.
